CFP: APA Pacific – Society for Business Ethics Group Session

Published on

Conference Venue
APA Pacific Division
Portland, OR, United States

Details
Submissions are invited from all for the Society for Business Ethics (SBE) group session at the Pacific Division Meeting of the American Philosophical Association (APA), which will be held in person in Portland, OR from March 20th-23rd, 2024.

We invite abstracts (~500 words) to be submitted to gjr5@stmarys-ca.edu by September 29th, 2023. Please ensure that there is no identifying information in the abstract, and use “SBE APA abstract submission” for the subject of the email submission. Graduate students are especially encouraged to submit.

For the session, three abstracts will be chosen for presentation. Comments will be provided by philosophers in the business ethics community.

We understand business ethics fairly expansively, and so encourage submissions on normative issues in business, corporate agency, markets, or management, as well as work applying other areas of philosophy to these topics, including moral psychology, the philosophy of action, political philosophy, or any area that can be creatively brought to bear on business. Scholars more familiar with work in PPE or social ontology may find it easy to adapt a project.

If you’re interested in developing a submission, but wish to first learn more about the field, you can consult the SEP’s entry ‘Business Ethics’ and/or email one of the organizers listed below.

About SBE and Business Ethics
Founded in 1978, SBE is an organization committed to promoting and advancing business ethics scholarship and pedagogy. SBE seeks to provide a forum in which moral, legal, empirical and philosophical issues of business ethics may be openly discussed and analyzed. To this end, we promote the study, discussion and debate of business ethics. This is accomplished by publishing the scholarly journal, Business Ethics Quarterly, and by hosting an annual conference in August.
