2021 Conference to be Held Virtually

Published on

Dear SBE Members and Friends,

In light of the Academy of Management’s decision to take their own 2021 conference online rather than host it in Philadelphia, the budgetary challenges facing many of our institutions, and most importantly, the health and logistical risks posed by the ongoing pandemic, SBE has opted not to meet in person in 2021, and instead transition our 2021 program online.

Thanks to the success of the 2020 SBE Virtual Conference, we have confidence that a virtual format will be the most suitable one for maximizing access to SBE this year, even as we look forward to gathering together in Seattle in 2022.  In order to minimize Zoom fatigue, coordination problems across many time zones, and conflicts with the 2021 Academy of Management program, our program will be held in short increments over five days, July 26-30, much like last year.

The SBE Board has also opted to reduce Conference registration rates for the 2021 Virtual Conference.  Registration will be $90 for members, and $40 for Students, Emeriti, and Non-Tenure-Track (SENTT) members.  SBE will no longer offer non-member registrations.  There will not be “early” or “onsite” registrations this year.

Registration is now open here, and will close on July 30.

Thank you for your support for and engagement with SBE throughout these disrupted times in which we live.  I am grateful for all you do to keep people talking about business ethics, and look forward to seeing you online in July!

Best Regards,

Dr. Jason M. Stansbury
