Dennis J. Moberg, emeritus professor at the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business, died May 31, 2023, after a long bout with cancer.  Dennis was a pioneer in business ethics, having held two endowed chairs at Santa Clara, the Wilkinson Chair of Business and Ethics, and the Presidential Professorship in Ethics and the Common Good.  He taught organizational behavior and organizational politics, and did much of his research on the behavioral manifestations of virtues in business.  He was President of the Society for Business Ethics from 2004 to 2006 and delivered his Presidential Address on his most cherished theme:  Ethics and Practical Wisdom.  He also served on the editorial board of the Business Ethics Quarterly.  Dennis served Santa Clara in many capacities, including as department chair and associate dean in the Leavey School of Business, as Executive Director of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, and as interim director of the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education.  He earlier taught at Whittier College and University of Oregon, before his 40 year career at Santa Clara.
