FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
|
|
|
Dear SBE members,
This year's conference in Philadelphia did not disappoint. There were so many excellent papers and sessions, and many newcomers and old-timers, and the quality of the sessions was fantastic. We welcome Irene Chu (Southampton) as our newest board member, and we will miss Tae Wan Kim on the board (although he is helping on a few ad hoc committees).
The board is beginning work already on plans for our Seattle conference next Summer. It will be held the weekend after the AOM conference (Thursday 8/5-Sunday 8/8) and we are planning some special events for the conference next year (more details to come soon!). We will soon be looking for a new executive director to replace me starting at next year's conference for a 5-year term (2027-2032) so if you have ideas or suggestions, do send them to myself or the board.
Gratefully,
- Andy

Our annual conference is where business ethics scholars and professionals come together to share new research, explore the latest developments in teaching and practice, discuss emerging issues, and enjoy genuine fellowship across disciplines and industries.
Future Locations (tentative):
The Society for Business Ethics has traditionally held our conference just prior to the AOM conference. Assuming that the SBE continues that tradition, our upcoming meetings will be at the following locations:
These locations are tentative and subject to change based on venue availability and partner schedules.

Book Announcement
Dr. Daryl Koehn, a longtime member of the SBE, has a new book, The Future of Business Ethics: The Corporate Form, Virtue Ethics, and Emerging Issues (Springer, 2026), which was one of the distinctive titles on display at this year’s Society for Business Ethics conference.
About half of the papers in the book have never been published before. The book centers on the ethics of various corporate forms (benefit corps; MLMs); the history of the corporation in the US (an oft-requested paper that is being used in introductory business ethics courses); virtue ethics; and some under-theorized emerging issues in business, including how better to think about fraud and how to recover from corporate wrongdoing.
The book is readily available through both Amazon and Springer.
