FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear SBE members,
The SBE finished 2025 with one of its largest memberships ever in its history. Our first ever European conference was great, and it was wonderful to meet with our colleagues there closer to their own institutions.
The board has met twice since August, and this year the conference comes back to Philadelphia, which always draws a good crowd. We look forward to seeing you there. We have moved the entire conference up a day, so what used to be on Thursday is on Wednesday, etc, and Saturday night is our last night of the conference.
The 2027 conference will be Seattle, and then Toronto in 2028.
As always, I feel blessed to be able to engage with the amazing super-achievers who make up the board and the various volunteer committees. SBE is not a huge organization, but it is hugely important, and we are doing good work. Thanks to all of you who help make SBE what it is.
Gratefully,
Andy Gustafson

Support the 2026 SBE Annual Meeting in Philadelphia
As we look ahead to our 2026 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia (July 29–August 1), I am excited to share an opportunity to support our SBE’s mission in a meaningful way.
Many of you know that the Society for Business Ethics does not accept corporate sponsorship. This policy reflects our commitment to independence and integrity, but it also means we rely on academic centers, non-profit organizations, and individuals to help make our conferences as inclusive and impactful as possible.
Your sponsorship directly supports scholars from underrepresented regions who otherwise could not attend, provides travel assistance for doctoral students and early-career researchers, sustains our Doctoral Students’ Program (which offers mentorship, waived registration, and a dedicated dinner), and helps us bring distinguished keynote speakers to the conference.
If you or your institution can contribute, or if you know of foundations or academic centers that might be interested, please reach out to me at alzola@fordham.edu. Sponsors receive recognition on our website, social media, and in the printed conference program.
I hope you will consider how you might help us build a more global and inclusive scholarly community. Every contribution makes a difference.

Our annual conference is where business ethics scholars and professionals come together to share new research, explore the latest developments in teaching and practice, discuss emerging issues, and enjoy genuine fellowship across disciplines and industries.
Future Locations (tentative):
The Society for Business Ethics has traditionally held our conference just prior to the AOM conference. Assuming that the SBE continues that tradition, our upcoming meetings will be at the following locations:
- Seattle, Washington (USA) • 2027
- Toronto, Ontario (Canada) • 2028
These locations are tentative and subject to change based on venue availability and partner schedules.
