Online Paper Discussion with Dr. Rim Bitar: From Critique to Action: A Capability Approach to Reimagining Human Rights Due Diligence

The SBE Junior Scholar Network and the Human Development & Capability Association (HDCA) are pleased to invite you to an online paper discussion entitled From Critique to Action: A Capability Approach to Reimagining Human Rights Due Diligence, featuring Dr. Rim Bitar (University of Geneva). Her recent open-access article co-authored with Judith Schrempf-Stirling in the Journal of Business Ethics offers new perspectives on how the Capability Approach can enrich and reframe business and human rights practices.

Dr. Bitar will open the session with key insights from her work, followed by reflections from Prof. Jean‑Michel Bonvin (University of Geneva). The discussion will then be opened to participants for an informal, off-record exchange of ideas. Participants are encouraged to read the paper in advance and share their questions during the session.
