The Doctoral Academy, hosted by the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics (WCGE) and the Friede Springer Chair of Business Ethics and Management Accounting (MLU), organizes two annual Writing Retreats as well as Summer and Winter Schools:

Writing Retreats

  • Focused writing sessions to boost productivity and concentration
  • Workshops on key academic skills such as writing techniques, time management, and research development
  • A supportive community and an extensive alumni network

Summer and Winter Schools

  • Learn about business ethics from both behavioral and normative perspectives
  • Gain insights into the practical applications of ethical theories in business
  • Engage with leading scholars and industry practitioners
  • ECTS credits available

Generously funded by the KSG Foundation, our programs provide doctoral candidates a platform to advance their research, connect with renowned scholars, and explore the intersection of theory and practice in business and leadership ethics. We are delighted to announce our next Writing Retreat, which will take place in Wittenberg, Germany:

Who can participate?
The Writing Retreat is open to doctoral students at European universities working on topics related to business or leadership ethics, broadly defined. Participants come from diverse academic backgrounds, including ethics, economics, psychology, engineering, and computer science. Research related to ethics in business (including sustainability or AI), leadership, or organizational behavior is welcome. Advanced Master’s students and early-career researchers are also encouraged to apply.

Costs:
Thanks to support from the KSG Foundation, we are able to offer partial funding for up to 20 participants. For only €50, participants receive accommodation, breakfast, two lunches, dinners, and full participation in the program. Please note that travel expenses are not covered. Acceptance letters will be sent on a rolling basis, so spots may fill quickly.

Thank you very much for your consideration. We would be delighted to share our programs with the newsletter readers.

Your team of the Doctoral Program “Business and Leadership Ethics”,
