Title: Tenured/Tenure-track Faculty Position in Management/Corporate Ethics – Waseda University, Faculty of Commerce

The Faculty of Commerce at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position (open rank: associate or assistant professor) in the field of Management.

The Faculty of Commerce seeks scholars committed to advancing research and education in strategic management, organizational behavior, corporate ethics, or entrepreneurship. We provide an academically vibrant environment that values interdisciplinary teaching and research excellence.

Ideal candidates should have:

  • A PhD in Management or a related field;
  • A strong record of scholarly publications, particularly in international academic journals;
  • The ability to teach courses in English;
  • Teaching experience at the tertiary level (preferred);
  • An enthusiasm for contributing to administrative duties, including participating actively in committees and university functions;
  • Non-Japanese speakers applying for tenured positions should have sufficient Japanese proficiency to fulfill administrative responsibilities.

The appointment will commence on April 1, 2026, September 1, 2026, April 1, 2027, or September 1, 2027. Employment conditions, including contract terms and benefits, are governed by the rules of Waseda University.

Interested candidates must submit their application by August 20, 2025 (JST). Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview and may be asked to conduct a mock lesson or research presentation, potentially online.
