SBE Conference Update

Published on

Dear SBE Members and Friends,

The SBE Board has been hearing questions from many of you about the upcoming 2020 conference.

We want to assure you that the conference is an important way that SBE accomplishes its mission, and we believe that the sharing and critiquing of ideas . . . the networking . . . the collaboration . . . and the social opportunities provided by our annual conference are valuable for the field of business ethics.

However, we are also deeply concerned about the manifold risks and difficulties that many attendees would face by joining us in Vancouver this August.

Therefore, the SBE Board is monitoring the available information, and working to make decisions about our conference that serve and protect our members . . . meet our legal and contractual obligations . . . and uphold our mission.

I can assure you that SBE is working diligently to develop the 2020 conference program, and is committed to delivering that program this August, whether in-person as we have for the past forty years, or virtually for the first time ever.

I anticipate having a final decision on how SBE will deliver its 2020 Annual Conference to share with you in May.

Looking forward to seeing you in August, whether in-person or online.
